Motorcycle sales is still in progression worldwide. Two countries that have recently published their sales statistics are France and Australia.
France
France has seen the effect of the government's anti-speeding efforts. There has been a noticeable drop in sport-motorcycles sales. The 125 cc motorcycles sales has increased 13.3% in 2004. Top sales in that category is the Piaggio X8. In the top 10 of the 125 cc category, 6 are scooters !
In total there has been an increase of 4.2% in new motorcycle sales during 2004.
