Troubled Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Aprilia, should be introducing a revamp of their 650 Pegaso adventure motorcycle. Not much information is known yet, but the motorcycle's frame has changed.
The engine remains the trusty Rotax engine which can be found on the BMW F650GS and F650CS motorcycles.
In fact, when you compare both motorcycles, they look very much alike. In the photo composition below, we've merged a photo of the new Aprilia 650 Pegaso and with 2004 model BMW F650GS.
And guess what... they look a lot like the same bike, with some minor differences in the dash and windscreen. Is this really the same bike ??
Is BMW making the frame, and Aprilia the engine ??

Picture Problems
Hi Mike, Minor problem with the placement of the F650GS picture, as it is showing up on top of the text of the article. Thought you'd like to know.

I'm surprised at Mike Werner's comparison between the Pegaso Strada and the 650 Bimmer. To everyone's knowledge the Pegaso Strada in the picture shown has a Yamaha XT660 engine. So how can you say that they are the same? Unless Unless the Rotex is built by Yamaha! Cheers! Pegaso Die-Hard

If you have a look at the BMW 650 Funduro and the old (95 to 04) Pegeso you will see the same bike with cosmetic changes. Rumor has it that Aprilia designed the Funduro for BMW.............

Forgot to mention -- the Beemer boys decided to stick to the standard 4 valve head whilst the Aprilia crowd changed it to a 5 valve head making the Pegaso perform better than the Beemer.......
